Both Pedro Emilio and Cita participated in the vocals for the tribute of their father, including the hits Esencia del Guanguanco, which brought a roar from the crowd.
After Pedro sang "Esencia del Guaguanco" he made a speech to the audience at SOB's about how proud he was of his father. "...mi papa era fiebru...y para mi eso fue muy importante...la unica manera que la musica de mi papa se va a oir es con ustedes porque la musica de papi no se oye en La Mega o "esas" emisoras".

An emphatic "Yes!" was Johnny Pacheco's response when asked if Pete "Conde" Rodriguez was instrumental in his career.
